2016 was a great year for The Lighthouse. Both The Lighthouse Surbiton and Raynes Park received their first Outstanding Inspections in October and September respectively.
We are very proud of this achievement. The staff team and young people in both homes deserve tremendous credit for their efforts.
Out team helped to create a caring environment for our young people allowing them to develop and thrive at The Lighthouse. In our reports the inspector speaks glowingly of her observations of the interactions between staff and young people and evidence that supports their positive outcomes.
"Young people make outstanding progress in this home and receive highly personalised and individual care from a skilled and committed staff team. The quality of care provided by staff assists young people to make outstanding progress in their personal development. This is most significant given their starting points."
Ofsted report Raynes Park - September 2016
Other than inspections we have seen a lot of investment into the bricks and mortar of our services. The Lighthouse - Surbiton in particular has seen a lot of work done to improve the environment and modernise facilities. This included a new sensory room, Kitchen refurbishment and some landscaping in the gardens.
Both homes also enjoyed their summer holiday to Centerparcs! Each year the young people will take a summer holiday together as a family. This year they chose to visit Centerparcs and from the photos it looks like everyone had a lot of fun!!
Looking forward to 2017 we are really optimistic that we can build on a great 2016 and be able to report more news of Outstanding inspections, fun activities and important developments.
